Amanda Headley for St. Albans Town Selectboard

Towns are Built on Trust

I am running for selectboard because I am proud to call Saint Albans home, and I hope you are too. There is still more work to be done and I would be honored if you trusted me to continue making this town a safe and vibrant place to live.

Whether you have called Saint Albans home for generations, or you just moved here, I want you to feel welcome and heard.

The current selectboard members have done a great job in shaping this town and moving it in a positive direction.

"I have worked with Amanda on a couple big jobs. I have to say that I looked forward to going to work in the morning on those jobs because Amanda is a dedicated and hardworking individual who genuinely cares about her community. Her passion for bringing people together shines in everything she does. Whether she's reading, exercising, or trying her hand at growing flowers, Amanda's humor and intelligence make her a joy to be around. She's the kind of person who not only works tirelessly but also inspires others to do the same."

About Amanda Headley

My father taught me that all we have in this life is our word and if you know me well, you know that is how I live my life. I hold myself accountable for my conduct.

I look forward to meeting each of you. I have spent the last 41 years of my life meeting as many people as I can. This has shaped me to value all of our differences. I believe everyone you meet has something to offer, or teach you. If you vote for me, I promise to reach out to others who are experts in their field to help me make the best decisions for this town.

Ideas for St. Albans

Affordable Housing
Affordable housing has been a barrier to many, not just in home ownership but how to afford rent as well. I support Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity and agree with their mission that Everyone deserves a decent place to live. We also need additional housing infill to meet the demand and increase our tax base. A larger tax base is like many hands make light work - the more people that are paying taxes, the less likely that taxes will have to be raised.

Cleaning up Saint Albans Bay
When I first moved here, one of my favorite things to do with my kids was to walk to the Bay park with some inflatables and spend an hour splashing around in the lake. In recent years, this has become impossible, as the beach is always closed. This is a big goal and I will need all hands on deck to help me accomplish this goal. I have already met with Dave Allerton of the town Public Works department to see what the town is doing to ensure that stormwater is being filtered before it reaches the lake. There is still more work to be done.

A Strong Police Force
Keeping Saint Albans town safe for ourselves and our children is on the forefront of my mind. Business owners are bearing the burden of the effects of homelessness and crime. I am grateful for what our officers are currently doing and I want to support them to continue this work to make our town a safe place to live.
